The Global Village Café

We are working with the Global Village Kitchen to provide a free weekly lunch club for asylum-seekers and refugees, as well as 12 Saturday cafés for the general public. These will be run and catered for by a team of refugees and asylum-seekers. The Saturday cafés will probably be on weekends when there are major Lancaster events such as Pride and the Music Festival, as well as to coincide with important religious and cultural festivals. The Global Village Kitchen will be using The Cornerstone as their base for other outside catering.

The Cornerstone Café

Sadly, we had to stop operating The Cornerstone Café as a regular daytime venue. Unfortunately, we did not have enough customers to be able to keep it open any longer - the overheads far outweighing the income. We had been drawing-down from our reserves to assist, but reached the point whereby it would be inappropriate to continue any longer.

We now have several daytime sessions using the Café and providing hot drinks as a drop-in facility.
You will find details of these on our News page.
